Maureen Mashek

Principal / Executive Creative Director

Maureen's approach to leading the BPC creative team is a blend of art and science. She believes the best creative work results from both a strategic response to the insights gleaned from the planning process and an eagerness to explore fresh ideas and approaches. Maureen accomplishes this by pushing the limits of design and staying current with trends and technology.

Maureen thrives on new challenges and enjoys each step of the creative process, from concept through production. She brings an energy—and a demand for perfection—to each job, each client, each artist and each vendor. With more than 20 years of agency experience, Maureen has worked on a wide range of clients, including consumer goods and services, retail, healthcare and business-to-business.

A 1983 honors graduate of the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, Maureen developed her unique advertising perspective while honing her craft and producing award-winning work at agencies such as Bozell, Jacobs, Kenyon & Eckhardt; Elkman Advertising and The Weightman Group.

Maureen moved to Pittsburgh in the early '90's and opened M.O.M. Advertising and Design, before partnering with A.J. Drexler to form Big Picture Communications.

Away from work, Maureen and her husband enjoy the great outdoors with their three children, dog and cat, and travel often to visit family in Washington, D.C., and Connecticut.
